Civic Journalism Society's Charter Meeting Kennesaw State University

January 24-25, 2003

Friday Night - January 24, 2003
6:00 -7 p.m

The Bentley Rare Book Gallery Need some charter building inspiration? See original newspapers from 1780's that speak to the question of ratifying the Constitution. Was religion an issue? Was inclusiveness an issue? Was advocacy journalism an issue? Some 5,500 old newspapers in the collection. Sound too much like a busman's holiday? Then how about a First Edition of the complete works of Chaucer dated 1542. The Chaucer book and the newspapers are among some 15,000 other rare books and manuscripts right here at Kennesaw State University. (Rare book library is open all day for scholars who want to do hands-on research.)

Then walk across the street to The Swallow at the Hallow for live acoustic country concert. Cost of dinner and show will be about $50. This is not a tourist trap; it's authentic down-home Georgia. He has to pay $15 cover charges in advance for each person.
