The Bentley Rare Book Gallery Need some charter building inspiration?
See original newspapers from 1780's that speak to the question
of ratifying the Constitution. Was religion an issue? Was inclusiveness
an issue? Was advocacy journalism an issue? Some 5,500 old newspapers
in the collection. Sound too much like a busman's holiday? Then
how about a First Edition of the complete works of Chaucer dated
1542. The Chaucer book and the newspapers are among some 15,000
other rare books and manuscripts right here at Kennesaw State
University. (Rare book library is open all day for scholars who
want to do hands-on research.)

The Great Southern Dinner and Country
Music Fest Greenwoods, Roswell, Georgia, serving Southern Fried
Chicken, Catfish, Collard Greens, Black-eyed Peas, Cornbread, and
Matzo Ball Soup (okay, so they are a little odd). Then walk across
the street to The Swallow at the Hallow for live acoustic country
concert. Cost of dinner and show will be about $50. This is not
a tourist trap; it's authentic down-home Georgia. Note: Greenwoods
does not take credit cards, will take personal checks. Please notify
Witt Lwitt@kennesaw.edu if you will be going to the concert after
the dinner. He has to pay $15 cover charges in advance for each
person. |
